- Jean Claude Boisset Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Valzieres 2018$85.00
TASTING NOTES
The color is ruby red. The nose exudes intense aromas of red fruits and spices. The palate, which combines roundness and delicacy, is marked by fruit.
ORIGIN
The Aloxe-Corton appellation covers 119 ha on the territory of the town of Aloxe-Corton and 8.5 ha on that of Ladoix-Serrigny, at the beginning of the Côte de Beaune. Nearly half of the vineyard area is classified as Grand Cru and no less than 17 classified Premier Cru. There are two types: those located on the Pernand-Vergelesses side and for the one that interests us The Valozières bordering the Grands Crus from below: the exhibition is perfect in the east, the land is quite heavy and deep giving wines a character structured and powerful. "Valozières" refers to the wicker that grew there.

- Kosta Browne Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021$135.00
Always A Rated By Top Critics
5 Stars The Oakville Wine Merchant
The 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is lifted with cedar, red cherry, and pine. The palate fills with grenadine and orange peel, soft, stony earth, and a silky texture. Drink over the next 7-8 years.
Founded by Dan Kosta and Michael Browne in 2001, today Kosta Browne is a part of the Duckhorn portfolio of wines. Winemaker Julien Howsepian, who has taken over from Nico Cueva, has been involved with the winery since 2012, when he had worked a harvest and subsequently became a full-time member of the team, working alongside Michael and Nico. Though the wines are still expressive of a full style, there has been some dialing back on ripeness over the past several years. Their reach has expanded in terms of regionality, but they continue to work exclusively with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

- Jean Claude Boisset Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets 2018$125.00
TASTING NOTES
The color is dark ruby red. The intense nose exudes aromas of fruit such as blackcurrant and blackberry, with some notes of violets. On the palate, this supple and elegant wine is supported by silky tannins.
ORIGIN
Between Beaune and Volnay extends the vast vineyard of Pommard which unfolds on each side of a monumental combe.
The plot "Les Arvelets" is located at the exit of this valley on the north slope. Exposed south with a clay-limestone soil rich in iron oxide covered with alluvium and silt, this premier cru is the steepest of the appellation.
The Latin roots of the word "arvelet" refer to the presence of old fields, plowing land at this location. - Jean Claude Boisset Volnay 1er Cru Santenots 2018$110.00
TASTING NOTES
With a beautiful ruby color, this wine surprises with its first intense nose of violets. It then reveals intense aromas of red berries and pepper. On the palate, it is very fresh in attack, a juicy wine with a very good length.
ORIGIN
Contrary to its name, “Les Santenots” is not located in the village of Volnay, but in Meursault, just to the south. Though best known for its white wines, certain terroirs, such as Les Santenots, located mid-hill, happen to be better adapted to bringing out all the finesse the Pinot Noir grape has to offer.
Several hypotheses exist concerning the name of this locality: "Santenots" may come from the Latin SENTES "brambles, thorny bushes". It may also be derived, as was the name of the village of Santenay, from the Gaulish SENTU "way" (alluding to the roads that passed through there to link Auxey-Duresses with the Roman road). It could also refer to 2 “ouvrées” (=1/12 hectare) of vines in La Sautenot (that could have been located in the Les Santenots area), that the Abbess of the Tart Abbey gave to the Abbey of Cîteaux in 1218. - 2018 The Setting Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville$89.95
The Wine Advocate went wild for this new Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, calling it “finessed with a velvety texture and minerally sparks.” It’s pure and finessed with violets, blue fruit, graphite, and a touch of graphite and dark cocoa nibs. The palate is full of texture and finishes long and luscious. You will taste this wine and not be able to put down the glass.

- Jean Claude Boisset Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes 2019$205.00
The colour is garnet red. The nose is very expressive and charming with intense aromas of small black fruits and peppery notes. On the palate, this wine is a bit austere in its youth but has a more square substance and a spicy finish. Good ageing potential!
This appellation is one of the smallest and most parcelled out of the Côte with only 97 ha of Village appellation vines, 50 ha of Premiers Crus and 25 ha of Grands Crus. The terroirs of Chambolle-Musigny are rather homogenous and enjoy eastern exposure. The delicate silkiness of its wines stems directly from the soil type.
This term 'Charmes' is used in Burgundy to designate poor vegetation plateaux, uncultivated or fallow land.Formerly there were many plots not worked by their owner because they were very stony and difficult to cultivate. - Morlet Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2019$325.00

The bouquet on this 2017 is truly stunning; it’s ripe yet fresh and savory. Aromas of barrel spice, mineral tones, and crunchy berries flow off the rim. The body is dark with cherry notes, tobacco leaves, and a line of acidity throughout. The tannins are tightly knit and show longevity in the wine. Enjoy now, or hold for 15+ years. The artistic approach to this wine is beautiful, and the winemaking is on-point. Small production yields small allocations. Jump on this one quick.
